Newly Fledged Purple Glossy Starling

Update 10th August:
White Tailed Jays:The four young are progressing nicely.
Purple Glossy Starlings: Four chickes fledged from nests 5 & 6 and three survived.
Azure Winged Magpies:Four young are now to be seen feeding themselves. Today I spotted an adult sat at another nestsite. Eggs again?
European Jays: The young were found dead two days after ringing ...... the brithish bird laws make life so difficult :>(

Update 26th July:
White Tailed Jays: I am still counting four young moving about the aviary :>)
Purple Glossy Starlings: Nest number 7 has eggs :>)
 ..... Nests 5 & 6 contain 1 chick and the other 3 chicks :>)
Azure Winged Magpies: I counted four newly fledged young :>)
European Jays: Two young in nest. I have attempted to ring them.

Update 15th July:
Purple Glossy Starling: The parent reared baby is to be seen flying with the parents.

White Tailed Jays: I have now counted a total of four fledged, though some look quite small.

Update 14th July.
White Tailed Jays:

Another two baby Jays were seen out of the nest :>)

Update 12th July:
White Tailed Jays: A baby has fledged :>)

Update 7th July:

Kookaburras: The eggs were infertile :>(
Purple Glossy Starlings: The baby from the early nests did not survive :>(
Nests 3 & 4 have both hatched young. there is three in one and a single chick in the other.
Both of teh early nesting pairs have laid again so I have nest number 5 & 6 :>)
European Jay: They have 5 eggs but are just on the bare wicker in the basket.
White Tailed Jays: One baby was noticed dead near the door so I checked the nest with a mirror, yes, there are more young in there :>)
Azure Winged Magpies: There are young in the nest :>)

Update 22nd June:

Kookaburras: The hen is still incubating three eggs but I was unable to determine whether they were fertile.
Purple Glossy Starlings: Nests one and two have only managed to get one youngster between them to 'pin feather' stage. This has been removed for hand rearing.
Nests three and four have both hatched. Both of these pairs have not nested before.
European Jay: Expecting to find a yoingster ready to tremove for hand rearing I was dissappointed to find no young but another clutch of eggs again.
White Tailed Jays: These have young in the nest, and attack me if I enter the aviary.
Azure Winged Magpies: These now have a large clutch of eggs again.

Update: 13th June:
Kookaburras: They have three eggs :>)
Purple Glossy Starlings: The first two nests have young. One in first one and two in second.
European Jay: The nest contains one youngster.

Update 5th June:
The fourth and final pair have laid their first egg.

Update 3rd June:

Purple Glossy Starlings:
A third pair have now laid eggs.

Update 29th May:

Black Throated Magpie Jays:
A broken egg is on the floor. There seems to be no nest built and the male attacks me violently if I even approach the aviary. It is progress of a sort.

Update 28th May:

White Tailed Jays: There is a nest of eggs.

Kookaburras: The hen was missing - it is presumed she is preparing nestbox. The male has been back and for regularlyUpdate 26th May.

Purple Glossy Starlings: Two pairs now have eggs.

Azure Winged Magpies: Still two eggs in nest, but no way of knowing if they are the same eggs.Update 20th May:

European Jays. A nest contains 5 eggs.

Update May 14th:

Azure Winged Magpies . Disappointment to find just two eggs in nest which is less than last time I looked. Difficult to know whether they have hatched and been rejected or the other pair are egg stealing. Still early days yet.

Purple Glossy Starlings. Three substantial nests are ready for eggs, but not yet.Update May 2nd 2009.
An open fronted nestbox in the Azure Winged Magpie aviary contains eggs.

Update May 1st 2009.

Several Species are carrying materials.
